Blues Hog BBQ Sauce.
Blues Hog BBQ Sauce started with pitmaster Bill Arnold near Memphis, Tennessee, and built its name through American Royal barbecue sauce contest wins. Tim Scheer, a Missouri competition cook with more than 35 Grand Champion titles, bought the brand and its recipes in 2015 and still runs it today.
Blues Hog BBQ sauce ownership
Bill Arnold founded Blues Hog near Memphis, Tennessee, and the brand name came from a barbecue competition where a musician called out "look at that Blues Hog, flipping that hog." Arnold built the sauce into a fixture of the competition circuit, and Blues Hog has won multiple first-place awards from the American Royal's barbecue sauce contest along the way. Tim Scheer bought Blues Hog and its recipes from Bill Arnold in 2015. Scheer has earned more than 35 Grand Champion titles on the competition circuit, including the 2012 American Royal Ribs Championship and the 2014 American Royal Brisket Championship, and he still runs Blues Hog today. Bill Arnold was inducted into the Barbecue Hall of Fame in September 2023, and the sauces on our shelves carry that legacy forward, one squeeze bottle and mason jar at a time.

Blues Hog is carried in our Sarasota showroom in mason jars and squeeze bottles. Ask us what you can come try, or check with us about a flavor before you drive over.
